"Wolves are generally secretive creatures and not often seen.  It is nice to report that there have been more numerous accounts and sightings with in Tahquamenon State Park.  Although the wolves depicted in this winter scene are both of the same color phase it is worth noting that wolves come in three distinct color phases ...white, gray and black.  Who is to know if the leader they are following is not of the melanistic or black color phase." - Kim Diment
